John Anselm Reisz

John Anselm Reisz, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at his home in Owensboro. Born September 13, 1915 in Tuck, KY, he was the son of the late Charles Richard Reisz and Eleanora Ann Fischer Reisz. He married Margaret Catherine Ebelhar on September 21, 1940, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Sorgho, KY. He was a long-time employee with Modern Welding Co and retired as CEO. John lived a long life of service to his community and numerous civic organizations. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ebelhar Reisz; one son, Richard Jacob Reisz; one granddaughter, Ruth Renee Reisz; one son-in-law, Edward F. Byrne; four sisters, Eleanora Ann Reisz, Martina Reisz Krampe, Edna Reisz Bowlds, Louise Reisz Thompson; and three brothers, Robert S. Reisz, Victor R. Reisz, and Leon T. Reisz.

Surviving are four sons, Harold (Margie) Reisz of Fresno, CA, Gerald (Suellen) Reisz of Los Alamos, NM, Mark Reisz of DeMotte, IN, and Ralph (Roni) Reisz of Whitesville, KY; five daughters, Eleanora Byrne of Owensboro, KY, Joann (John) Strain of Springfield, VA, Johnnie (Tony) Coomes of Lilburn, GA, Barbara (Ed) Deckard of Beaver Creek, OH, and Marilyn (Richard) Nugent of Lubbock, TX; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Miller Reisz; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lorena Reisz Boarman.

Services are at 10:00 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Father Brad Whistle officiating, followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
