John Zachary Pearl

John Zachary Pearl, 71, of Owensboro, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born March 16, 1936 to the late Jessie and Oda Lucas Pearl in Daviess County. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, he retired from the US Army after 20 years in which he served three tours in Viet-Nam and was a truck driver for 24 years. He was a life member of VFW, a member of the American Legion and in 2003 he helped established the John Z. Pearl AMVETS Post 119, in which he was a life member. He enjoyed NASCAR, horse racing and spending time with his family. For many years he enjoyed participating with Mrs. Kuegels 5th grade class in honoring Veterans.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Joseph and Jessie Pearl.

Survivors include one brother, Charles Pearl of Anniston, AL and one sister, Mary Osborne of Southgate, CA; a Godchild, Summer Pearl of Owensboro, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home with Military Services at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday and after 10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Prayers will be 6:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 319 West 10th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
