John Outlaw

John W. Outlaw, 71, of Owensboro, went home February 20, 2017, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born February 17, 1946 in Kentucky to the late Haywood and Magdalene Tramill Outlaw. John accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age. He was a Marine and Vietnam Veteran and proudly served his country. John was a member and served as Senior Vice Commander at VFW Post 696. He worked at Modern Welding for 37 years. John also coached little league at Eastern.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kent Earl Cable; two granddaughters, Ka'Mya Frey and Mahagony Outlaw; brothers, Haywood, Milton, and Ray Outlaw; and sisters, Cecil Davis and Cecelia Shelby.

John is survived by his loving wife of over twenty-seven years, Tammy Heifner Outlaw; children, Clarence (Bridget) Outlaw, and J.W. Outlaw, Wennell (Wes) Helvey, all of Evansville, Clara Outlaw of Clarksville, TN, Jeff Cotton and Marie Hagan, of Philpot, Kendra Hazelip, of Owensboro, Ronnie Cotton and Misty Douglas, of Owensboro, Bianca (Cody) Frey, of Livermore, and Johnathan Robnett, of Junction Station, CO; a special son-in-law, Michael Hazelip; brothers, Clayborne (Carolyn) Outlaw, of Evansville, and Howard Outlaw, of Fort Wayne; mother and father-in-law, Janie and Glenn Ford, of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jamaine Vaughn, Brittney Outlaw, Clarence Outlaw Jr., Shawna Funches, Demarco Outlaw, Christina Outlaw, Myesha Outlaw, Alicia Outlaw, Kendra Outlaw, Jordan Johnson, Allaina Johnson, Je'yon Johnson, Juwon Cotton and Destiny Cottrell, Dawson Miles, Kaleb Cotton, Haley Hazelip, Austin Hazelip, Ethan Vincent, Camden Cotton, Wyatt Frey, Ariyan Frey, and Thomas Frey; great-grandchildren, Travis Outlaw, Marcus Smith Jr., Jordan Johnson Jr., Leo Rodriguez, Kyzer Cotton, Jay'den Cottrell, Jayce Vaughn, Jameila Vaughn, Jamaine Vaughn, and Juliette Vaughn; sister-in-law, Temiko Davis; best friend and roady, David Phillips; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of Western Kentucky for their loving care, and also to his brothers and sisters in arms at VFW Post 696.

Services will be 2:00pm, Saturday, February 25, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be 3:00pm until 7:00pm Friday, and 12:00pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
