John Kenneth Nance

October 9, 1926 — November 20, 2003

John K. Nance, 77,of Owensboro, died Thursday, November 20, 2003 at his home. The Webster County native was the son of the late Isom Hardy and Virginia Sutton Nance and was retired from General Motors Acceptance Corporation after 28 years service as a credit supervisor. He was a member of the Century Christian Church; and has worked as a tobacco and cattle farmer since his retirement from GMAC in 1981. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Nance.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Hilda Stevens Nance; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Robin Nance of Slaughters and Joe and Mary Beth Nance of Mt. Sterling; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and Tim Loyd of Chesterfield, MO and Lisa and Mike Knott of Owensboro; and nine grandchildren, Kacy, Megan, Molly, Logan and Carrie Nance, Kristin and Kolby Knott, and Lindsay and Libby Loyd.

Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Norvell and Reverend Niki Jorgenson officiating. Visitation will be from 2-6 P.M. on Saturday and after 12 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. The graveside committal service will be at Slaughters Cemetery, Slaughters, KY at 3:30 P.M. on Sunday.
