John R. Morris, 70, of Owensboro passed away May 17, 2019 at home. He was born April 13, 1949 in Owensboro to the late Paul and Dorothy Morris. John was a retired lineman for OMU and enjoyed life. He found excitement in skiing, sailing, and had acquired his Captain's License. He also enjoyed flying, biking and cruising in his Corvette Stingray. John was affable and found joy in meeting new people. He was a fun spirited man who enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle, being outdoors, and attending concerts.
John is survived by his sister, Sandy Gorrell (Alan) of Bristol, TN; nieces, Tracy (Morris) Chernick of El Segundo, CA; Kelly Thomason (Brad) of Hoover, AL; nephew, Chris Gorrell (Misty) of Bristol, TN; former wife and long-time friend, Brenda Faye Elliott of Evansville and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are private.
