John M. Leishman

February 20, 1931 — March 28, 2006

John M. Leishman, 75, of 7727 Highway 2830, Maceo, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at his home. He was born in Terre Haute, In. to the late James & Almeda Eyster Leishman. He was retired after 30 years in the U. S. Air Force, as a security guard at the Branchville (In.) Prison after 10 years and had worked at the Indiana-Michigan Power Plant in Rockport. He was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, the V. F. W.. Post 696, and enjoyed making crafts, drawing, and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Leishman in 1981, and two sisters and three brothers.

Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Dot Leishman, a son and wife James & Casandra Leishman of Utica, two daughters, Vicky & husband Barry Liles of Owensboro and Veda Bernstein of Jacksonville, Fl., two stepsons and wives, Jeff & Cathy Hillard of Owensboro and Tony & Sherrie Hillard of Maceo, a stepdaughter, Tammy Goatee of Owensboro, a daughter-in-law, Wally Leishman of Owensboro, a grandson he raised from birth, Aaron Hillard at home, 12 other grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, a brother-in-law & best friend, Bill & wife Barbara Towery of Maceo, and a sister, Almeda Chenault of Owensboro.

Services will be at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, March 30, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Military honors will be held by the U. S. Air Force.
