John Henry Kramer

John Henry Kramer, 83, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, July 15 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Owensboro to the late John and Helen Wirthwein Kramer.

Mr. Kramer proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the era of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

As a young man he worked as a welder on pipelines before becoming employed at Century Aluminum. He retired from Century after many years of service. John also loved farming and did that in some capacity throughout most of his life.

Mr. Kramer was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors watching nature, talking to people, air shows and a variety of military shows or documentaries.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kramer was preceded in death by twin sisters, Barbara Jensen and Mary Kramer; and his beloved dog, Buddy.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Kramer; children, Jennifer Kramer and John B. Kramer (Beth); grandchildren, Henry and Madeleine Kramer; a half-sister, Lori Kramer Crewse (Coby); and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, July 21st at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11:30 AM Tuesday. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery.
