John J. Korthuis, 54, of Owensboro, passed away August 11, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born September 20, 1961 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to Jelmer J. and Josina Korthuis, John was proud to serve his country at age 16 in the Canadian Armed Forces. His children followed in his footsteps and have all served in the military. John was a dedicated employee and leader at Kimberly-Clark where he first stepped foot in their doors at the age of 21. He was a trustworthy, loving, simple man, and enjoyed things in life like traveling, hiking, and University of Tennessee football.
John is preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Wendy; daughters, Amanda Bunch, Melanie Korthuis; son, Kevin Korthuis (Paige Dellisse); nieces, Kathryn and Michelle Davies; Nephew, Michael Korthuis (Jessica); brothers, Erick Korthuis (Marnie), Paul Korthuis; sister, Nancy Davies (Michael); sister-in-law, Karen Fabris; mother-in-law, Doreen Jones, and his furry four-legged friend, Jasper.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Fr. Tony Jones officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday and after 12:00 p.m. Monday, at the Funeral Home.
