John Joseph Johnston

Mr. John J. Johnston, Jr., 70, of 4642 Strickland Dr., Owensboro, died Thursday, March 29 at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro. A native of Owensboro, Mr. Johnston was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and was retired from Green River Steel. He graduated from St Francis Academy in 1949, was an artist and avid tennis player and was an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Barnett Johnston, a sister, Marguerite Welsh of Owensboro, 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Funeral services are Saturday, March 31 at 11 A.M. at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 P.M. Friday and after 9:30 A.M. Saturday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or to Walnut Memorial Baptist Church.
