John L. Jarnagin

John L. Jarnagin, 82, of Owensboro passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Heartford House.
He was born on September 1, 1931 in Utica, Kentucky to the late Jethro and Ruth Taylor Jarnagin.

John retired from Whirlpool. Prior to that he had worked as a foreman for J. Stinnett Roofing and in his early years he worked in the oil fields. During his retirement years he made many friends as he traveled this part of the country dealing at countless flea markets. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. John was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Bartlett Jarnagin in 1997; his second wife, Peggy Russell Jarnagin in 2011; a great grandchild, Holly Nicolas; and a brother, Roy Clide.

John is survived by sons, Kenneth Jarnagin (Kathleen) of Hartford, John Jarnagin (Kelly) and Bill Jarnagin (Marilyn), both of Owensboro; grandchildren, Autumn and Austin Jarnagin, Tammy Downing (Wayne), Shannon Jarnagin, Angela Nicolas (William), William "Joey" Newton (Misty), and Destiny Diane "DD" Morris; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Jarnagin; and a special nephew, Robert Saunders.

The funeral service will be at 12 Noon on Thursday, August 14 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8 PM and after 10 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
