John Dennis Haynes Jr., 53, was called for eternal rest on November 4th, 2023, at his home in Newburgh, Indiana. He is now where the Chicago Bears are always World Champions; The crappie and bass never stop biting, and he happily assists his Papaw in milking the cows and harvesting the bountiful crops in heaven.
John was born on September 4th, 1970, in Owensboro, Kentucky, and raised in Philpot, KY. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1988 and entered the United States Air Force. He was overseas during Operation Desert Storm, where he served his country with pride. He was discharged from the Air Force in 1992. John was Fabrication Section Manager at BWX Technologies Nuclear Operations Group in Mount Vernon, IN.
John’s greatest accomplishments and pride were his children. He was the greatest fan at his son’s football games at Catholic High, or his children’s cross country, basketball, and soccer games. He found great peace and enjoyment out on the water fishing with his kids and family, working outdoors, and having family barbecues. He was always up for a conversation about football, the military, or farming. He was an inspiration of courage, grit, and leadership to his siblings. Throughout his career, he forged many friendships and respect for those that worked with him. He will be missed by all who knew him and his sense of humor will forever be remembered.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph Carl and Mary Roberts and his paternal grandparents, Dan and Edith Haynes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, April Payne Haynes; his daughters, Jessica ( Dustin ) Roberts; Camille Quinn; Emma Haynes, and Carlee Haynes; his sons: Zackary (Bree) Haynes, Dustin Quinn, and JD Haynes; His heart was also home to Taylor Hamilton Biondi and Will Hamilton; five grandchildren: Carslyn Haynes, Luna Haynes, Aubrey Roberts, Gavin Roberts, and Audi Roberts; his loving parents, John and Brenda Haynes; sister, Jennifer (Bud) Howe; brothers: David Haynes, Ben Haynes, and Justin (Carey) Haynes; and many nieces and nephews who loved their uncle dearly: Lindsey (Hunter) Noffsinger, Johnathon Howe, Nolan Howe, Autumn Haynes, Megan Haynes, Brenna Haynes, Evan Haynes, and Bryson Meyer.
The funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Friday, November 10, 2023, at St. Williams Catholic Church in Knottsville. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 pm Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 9:00 until 10:00 am Friday at the funeral home.
