John M. Hamilton

John M. Hamilton, 68, of Owensboro, was called home to be with the Lord on April, 23, 2014, at his residence. He was born February 1, 1946 to the late Paul and Pauline Hines Hamilton, was of the Catholic faith, and a parishioner of St. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. John grew up on a farm in West Louisville, served in the Army Reserves, and was the owner of John Hamilton Painting in both Owensboro and Jacksonville, FL. While in Florida he meet the love of his life, Chryl. John and Chryl moved back to Owensboro after 21 years, and retired from painting in 2013. John liked to tinker in his garage, and enjoyed gardening, yard work, and family fish fry's. His greatest enjoyment was painting. He loved visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, James and Martin Hamilton; and his sisters, JoAnne Daily, Joyce Jarvas, Mary Magan and Judy Bainbridge; and his granddaughter, DeAmra S. Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Chryl Hamilton; children, Tammy (Balwinder) Singh of Owensboro, Gary (Kathy) Boyer, Randy Boyer and Cathy (Lloyd) Gilpin all of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Demetria (Tate) Swanagan, Dameka and Datoria Williams, Rodney and Kya Collier, Alyssa and Casey Alford, Kayla Lundy, Danielle and Jessica Boyer; great-grandchildren, KeShaun, Keiaya, Jadon and Jayvon Farmer, Mesiah, Aalyriq and Ayland Williams, Kierra and Jonathan Biever and Kiannah Williams; brothers, Phil (Pat) Hamilton and Tommy Hamilton; sister, Cathy (Gene) Grawford; sister-in-law, Debra Hamilton; uncle, Harmon Hines; aunts, Opal Greer, Betty Wilson and Adda Hamilton; special niece, Lisa Jewell; many nieces and nephews and his furry canine companion, Windy.

Services will be at Noon on Saturday at Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky or the Daviess County Animal Shelter.
