John A. Gazella

John A. Gazella, 85, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at his home. He was born June 13, 1923, to the late Bartholomew and Mary Poremba Gazella in Lansford, PA. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. He enjoyed following and watching all sports.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruth Gazella on July 28, 1998, and two brothers, Michael and Joseph Gazella.

Survivors include two brothers, Frank Gazella of Lathrup Village, MI, Bernard Gazella of Lansford, PA; three sisters, Mary Nesterak and Bernadette Lukac, both of Coldale, PA, and Teresa Folak of Williamstown, MI; several nieces and nephews; his caregivers, Sandra and Louis Owen Howard of Owensboro.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, at Christ Chapel, at Owensboro Memorial Gardens, with burial following. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3306 Fenmore Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
