John A. Evans

John A. Evans, 75, of Owensboro passed away on September 23, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on February 19, 1936 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of John and Catherine Evans.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He attended Indiana State University and graduated with a Masters of Science & Math. He was a Metalurgist for Alcan Aluminum and retired after 23 years of service, and in retirement he worked as a consultant for 19 years and attended Settle Memorial United Methodist Church.
John enjoyed playing golf, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
John is survived by his wife of 45 years Mary Lou Evans; three daughters Melissa (Chad) Lyons of Henryville, IN; Cathy (Kevin) Pauley of Owensboro, KY; Allison (Tim) Payment of Hopkinsville, KY;, four sisters Katherine Szakovits , Mary Ann (Bob) Bibb, and Betty McCabe all of Terre Haute, Indiana and Peggy (Allen) Gayler of Plantation, Florida;, eight grandchildren Marley Pauley, Kaitlyn Pauley, Aric Lyons, Amora Lyons, Jamie Pauley, John Patrick Payment, Reilly Paul Payment, and Evan Marie Payment.
Visitation will be on Monday September 26, 2011 from 10:00 AM until service time at Glenn Funeral Home.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Paige Williams officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
