John Thomas Duncan

John Thomas Duncan, Sr., 85, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at his home. He was born May 24, 1925 to the late John G. and Rose Byler Duncan in Lauderdale County, TN. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and a member of the American Legion. Following his military service, John earned a bachelor degree from the University of Tennessee, and following graduation, he held various positions in finance and marketing at General Electric / MPD in Owensboro and retired after 45 years of service. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, and enjoyed bowling, golf, playing cards, working in his garden, and being with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Rosemary Duncan; his children, John Thomas Duncan, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Terri (Bobby) McKinley, Cynthia (Eric) Vaughan, and Lisa Duncan, all of Owensboro; five grandchildren, James B. Havener, Joshua L. Havener, John Thomas Duncan, III, Brandon S. Love, and Alex T. Vaughan; two great-grandchildren, Avery Alan Love and Henry Thomas Duncan.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, with prayers beginning at 6:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, friends may call after 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301, or Blessed Mother Catholic Church, 601 East 23rd St., Owensboro, KY 42303.
