John Coldwell Byrn, 82, of Owensboro died Tuesday March 26, 2002 at NHC HealthCare in Hendersonville, TN. The Union City, TN native had lived in Owensboro for over 50 years. He was the District Sales Manager for Consumers Trading Stamp Company, a Navy veteran of both World War II and Korea, and a member of Breckenridge Street United Methodist Church.
Mr. Byrn was preceded in death by his brother, William David Byrn; father, Samuel Byrn; and mother, Lucile Coldwell Byrn, all of Union City.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Eunice Lee Kirby Byrn; a step-son, Paul B. Walker of Hendersonville, TN; a sister, Beatrice Skinner of Pensacola, FL; two step-grandchildren, Shelli Moring of Lake in the Hills, IL and Paula Grinko of Columbus, OH; a step-great-grandchild; four nephews; and a niece.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
