John Miller Brooks

John Miller Brooks, age 76, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on March 16, 2026.

Born on September 4, 1949, in Owensboro, Kentucky, John was a lifelong member of the community that shaped him. He carried a quiet strength and independence throughout his life, walking his own path with determination. He was known for his strong will and unwavering nature. He shared part of his life with his wife, Patsy Brooks, who preceded him in death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Margaret Brooks; his wife, Patsy Brooks; and his son, John Brooks, who passed away in 2004.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Stanton; stepsons, James and Kevin Lane; grand-daughters, Megan McKenna, Jessalynn Wzorek and Angela Ramirez; grand-sons, Alexander Ramirez, Parker Hamell, Drake Brooks and Johnny Brooks.

In the end, John’s life rests in the hands of God, where all things are made whole. While his journey on earth has come to a close, there is peace in knowing that eternity offers what this life could not.

John will be remembered for his resilience, his steady presence, and the life he built in Owensboro. His story, with all its complexity, leaves a lasting imprint.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro, Kentucky. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Ball officiating. Committal and burial to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
