John Thomas Blair

John T. Blair, 71, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at his home. Born in Daviess County on November 12, 1939, he was the son of the late John P. and Mary E. Murphy Blair; was retired from Browning's Furniture; and was of the catholic faith. Mr. Blair enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, NASCAR and spending time with his best friend and brother, Tom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Clyde Blair.

Surviving are daughters, Vicki Porter of Philpot and Sara (Mike) Van Winkle of Utica; grandchildren. Timothy Porter, II of Philpot and Tiffany (Jason) Horn of Utica and Nicholas Van Winkle and Travis Van Winkle of Utica; his companion, Hazel Jewell; the daughters' mother, Theresa Carr; brothers and sisters, Jerome (Bonnie) Blair of Stanley, Michael (Elsie) Blair, Sr. of Reed, Daniel "Fuzz" (Lucy) Blair of Owensboro, Ben (Stanette) Blair of Newman, Mary (John) Jones of Owensboro, Thomas (Janie) Blair of Owensboro, Angela Peerman of Newman, and Robert "Redbird" (Gail) Blair of Newman; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be 12:05 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St Stephen Cathedral followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. on Friday.
