John U. Bartley

John Bartley, Jr., 62, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at his home. Born August 28, 1943 in Daviess County; was retired from Murphy Miller Chair Company where he was an upholsterer; was of the Catholic faith; and graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School. Mr. Bartley was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War; enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, and gardening; and loved to watch UK basketball. He was a preceded in death by his father, John Bartley, Sr.

Survivors included his wife of 42 years, Cynthia May Millett Bartley; a son, Kevin Bartley of Owensboro; a daughter, Shari Ann Morris of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Clyde Bartley, Jonathan Wright, and Josh Wright; his mother and step-father, Margaret and Gene Hutchison of Owensboro; two brothers; and a sister.

Services are 10 A.M. Friday, May 12, 2006 at Glenn Funeral Home with Father Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be 2-8 P.M. Thursday and after 8:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home where prayers will be said at 6 P.m. Thursday evening.
