John Relice Allen

John Relice Allen, 78, of Trigg County, died February 1, 2015. He was born July 11, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Richard and Martha Ball Allen. John was of the Baptist faith. He was a Marine Corps Veteran and later retired from OMU after 27years. John enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking, and spending time at his lake home at Lake Barkley.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Lawson Allen in 2011; daughter Jan Cooper in 2008; and brother Richard Allen in 2014.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Sparks (Tom); grandchildren, Derik Horne, Seth Sparks, Michael King (Christina), Magan Hamilton (Jesse), Zachary Cooper, and John Cooper; great-grandchildren, Hadley Horne, Hayden Horne, Adelyse King, Carter Hamilton, Jayden Hamilton, and Kinsley Hamilton; sister Nancy Capistran.
Service will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00pm until 7:00pm Tuesday and from 9:00am until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
