John Minor Abel

Mr. John Minor Abel, 75, of 4607 McIntire Crossing, Owensboro, Ky., died Monday, July 28, 2003, at the North Park Nursing Home in Evansville, IN., He was born November 8, 1927, of William Lamar and Olivia Rumage Abel, in Evansville, IN.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, a veteran of WW II and the Korean War, he retired from the Army after 22 years of service and also retired from the US Postal Service

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Moore Abel, of 53 years, one son, John Lamar Abel of Owensboro, Ky., two daughters, Leslie Ann Crask, of Madison, IN., and Bernadette Roby, of Whitesville. Thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one brother, Pat Abel, of Owensboro, three sisters, Virdie Stevens, of Jacksonville, FL., Nancy Bumm, of Owensboro, and Betty Jean Young, of Rockport, IN.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Friday, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 till 8:00 PM Thursday, at Glenn Funeral Home, with prayers being said at. 6:00 PM.
