Johannah Stewart Belcher, 82, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Wellington Parc. Born January 22, 1928 in Ohio County, she was the daughter of the late G.W. "Rudy" and Lettie Norris Stewart; was a member of Bells Run Baptist Church; and was a homemaker. Mrs. Belcher was a very loving, caring person who cherished her family. She loved to smile and laugh, and shop, especially for jewelry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Stewart.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ellis Ruperd Belcher; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jim Sharp of Owensboro; grandchildren, Summer (and Billy) Ogle of Richland, IN and Brad Sharp of Owensboro; great-grandchildren, Hillary Sharp, Peyton Sharp, Brody Ogle, Ryan Ogle, and Lettie Ogle; a half-sister, Thelma Stewart of Hartford; and several nieces and nephews..
Services are 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother John Cummins officiating. Burial will be in Bells Run Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday and after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
