Joe C. English

Joseph C. English, 87, of Calhoun, passed away on April 1, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Tampa, Florida to the late Clarence Wesley and Olive Louise English, Sr.

Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He and his wife, Polly, lived in Florida and then in Georgia for twenty seven years. In these years Joe and Polly attended Pentecostal Churches. They moved to Calhoun about six years ago. Joe was a carpenter and while in Georgia he worked for Faulk & Son Construction. Joe's occupation was also a hobby. He enjoyed building things around the house during retirement. Joe also enjoyed country and gospel music.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Grace P. "Polly" English; children, Brenda Joy Winstead of Calhoun, Joe English, Jr., Linda English Avery, Sharon English Tripp, Roy Lastinger, Kay English and Wesley English, all of Florida; many grandchildren, including Thomas Crist and Kristy Hodges; and a brother, C.W. "Junior" English of Florida.
