Joe Billy Chapman, 78, of 3851 Lewis Lane, Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at his home. He was born in Whitley Co., In. to the late William Russell and Anna Bailey Chapman. He was retired after 27 years with Alcoa Aluminum Co. He was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed football and watching his favorite team, the Indianapolis Colts and listening to all types of music, and was also a member of the American Legion. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Ann Dant in 1947, and two grandsons, Robbie Tucker and Billy Joe Lee.

Surviving is his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth Betty Chapman, four daughters, Linda Pauley of Madisonville, Ky., Bobbi Tucker and Paula Ray, both of Owensboro, and Mary Jane Smith of Council Bluff, Iowa, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, a sister, Louise Linegar of Rockport, In. and a brother, Jack Edwin Chapman of Newburgh, In.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 7 at the Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery.
