Joe Loyd Burden, 67, of Philpot, passed away Sun. May the 11th 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born April the 14th 1947 in Daviess Co. A son of David R. and Jenny B .Laslie Burden. Joe lost his dad in 1984, his mom in 2009, and a sister Bonnie R Baird in 2003.

He was a retired school bus driver for the Daviess County Public Schools. He served in the Army in which he served two tours in Viet Nam. Mr. Burden was of the Baptist faith.

Joe was a very special person to all that knew him. He was a loyal dad, grandad, son, brother and friend.
He was a very talented person with many interests but loved playing his guitar and fishing.
Joe's family was everything to him and will always miss him, but take comfort in knowing he is at peace in the arms of Jesus, and all his pain is gone.
He is survived by 2 sons; Bryan ( Cindy ) Burden of Paducah Ky. Jimmy (Wanda) Burden of Owensboro Ky. Two grandsons Logan and Gaberial Burden Of Owensboro. A granddaughter, who was a very special little girl who made his world complete, Rebecca Lynn Burden of Owensboro. Three brothers; William (Lynn) Burden of Owensboro, David (Charlene) Burden of Pinehurst, Idaho and Ronald ( Sally) Burden of Lexington Ky. Three sisters; Evelyn Bellamy of Whitesville, Nikki (David ) Richard of Evansville IN and Sharon (Jeff) Nichols of Lewisport Ky. Many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Yellow Creek Cemetery on May 15, 2014.
