Joann Payne

Joann Payne, 77, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Fordsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on June 30, 1937 in Daviess Co. to the late Paulonis and Mary Howard Wilkerson. She was retired after 29 years from the former Owensboro Medical Health System. Joann was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed making ceramics, flower gardening, a good laugh, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Payne on August 31, 2002, a son, Ronald Payne on August 26, 2008, a daughter, Teresa Payne, a sister, Shirley Bullock, and two brothers, Glenn and George Wilkerson.\

Surviving are two sons, Darryl (Jennifer) Payne and David "Mickey" Payne, all of Owensboro, two daughters, Janice L. Payne and Sharon Pedley, both of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Rayna Gabrielle Payne, Zackery Aaron Payne, Ryan Tyler Payne, Perri Madison Pedley, and Trayce Alen Pedley, all of Owensboro, three brothers, Paul Ray Wilkerson, William C. "Strawberry" Wilkerson, and Danny Joe Wilkerson, all of Owensboro, and two sisters, Joyce Aull of Greenville and Mary "Red" Bennett of Louisville.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 22, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 8:30-9:30 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be 7:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
