Joan W. Reisz

Joan W. Reisz, 69, of 617 E. 23rd Street, Owensboro, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born March 20, 1933 in Daviess County, Kentucky the daughter of William J. and Mary Ella Tong Reisz.

Mrs. Reisz retired from teaching after 40 years, she taught 18 years in Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Evansville and in Spencer County, Indiana. She also taught in the Owensboro School system at Lincoln Elementary and Seven Hill Elementary before retiring in 1992. She received her Masters degree in General Education from University of Evansville. Mrs. Reisz was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church.

Survivors include one brother, Father Leonard F. Reisz of Owensboro; four sisters, Margaret Payne of Rockport, IN, Martha Snyder of Chrisney, IN, Sister Mary Reisz of Nazareth, KY, and Nancy Harpenau of Tell City, IN; one Aunt; Cousins; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2002 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, officiated by Father Leonard Reisz. Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery in Spencer County, IN. Her family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2002 and after 8:00 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
