Joan Ivey Johnson, 81, of Owensboro, died Friday, January 11th at her home with her family at her side after losing her battle with cancer. Joan was born in Owensboro on June 2, 1931, to the late Bernard "Buck" and Mary Catherine "Logsdon" Ivey. Joan was also preceded in death by sisters, Jane and Betty Ivey, a brother, John Ivey, and an infant daughter.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Harlan "Al" Johnson. Their 60th anniversary would have been February 7th, a daughter, Debra Johnson, a sister, Judy (Mike) Miller all of Owensboro, a nephew, John (Barbara) Ivey of California, niece, Holly (Phillip) Needham of Calhoun, a great -niece, Katie Ivey, and great-nephew, Benjamin Needham.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, January 13th at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Liberty Lausterer officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be private.
