Joan Trent Hatton

Joan Trent Hatton, 53, of 1100 Woodmere Lane, Owensboro, died at her home Wednesday, June 20, 2001. She was born September 7, 1947 in Letcher County, Kentucky, the daughter of Edna Thomas Trent and the late Hager Trent.

Mrs. Hatton taught in the Daviess County school system for 11 years at Masonville and Deer Park schools. She taught for one year in Greenup County, one year in Bullitt County and four years in Owen County. She was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church in Owensboro.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Robert Hatton; a son Kevin Wayne Hatton of Lexington; a daughter, Roxanna Lynne Hatton of Lexington; her mother, Edna Thomas Trent of Whitesburg; and three brothers, Tommy Trent and Johnny Trent, both of Newpoint, Ind., and David Trent of Whitesburg.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 23, 2001 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg, officiated by Brother Michael Rust. Burial will follow in American Legion Cemetery in Whitesburg. Her family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday June 21, 2001 at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro and from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday June 22 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Deer Park Elementary School Playground Equipment Fund, 4959 New Hartford Road, Owensboro, Kentucky, 42303.
