Jo Marie Smola

Jo Marie Smola, 80, of 2530 Daviess St., Owensboro, went to join the Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at her home. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Joe & Eunice Oost Little. She was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 15 years. She was retired as a clerk for the City of Owensboro after 27 years of service. She also worked as a volunteer for Cornerstone Counseling, and enjoyed cooking, quilting, helping others, working for the Lord, and spending a lot of time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Smola, Jr. on April 23, 1986 and a son, John Joseph Smola III on September 26, 1952.

Surviving are three daughters, Anna & husband Zane Robertson of Salisbury, N.C., Donna & husband Owen Tribble, Theresa & husband Joey Ross, and a son, Walter John Smola all of Owensboro, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Brent & wife Suzanne McLimore and children, Hannah & Dalton of Salisbury, N.C., Crystal & husband Scott Heath and children, Cody & Lauren of Owensboro, P. D. & wife Paula Gray and children, Austin & Connor of Utica, Ky., and Jay & wife Lexi Hartman and children Layne, Alyse, & Cale of Owensboro, and a sister, Mary Ann Moffitt of Kansas City, Mo.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at Eaton Memorial Baptist Church with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Monday.
