Jesse M. "Squeek" King, 81, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born February 11, 1936 in Daviess Co. to the late Roy E. King, Sr. and Winfred Barnes King. He was retired as an oilfield worker and heavy equipment operator. Jesse was of the Baptist faith and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and horse racing. He also enjoyed going to casinos, watching baseball and basketball games, and Western movies. Jesse was a great person that had a real wit about him.
He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Albert Wedding, a brother, Roy "Punkin" King, a nephew, Dr. Randy King, and an infant son, Jesse King.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Darleen King, son, Dwayne J. "Jake" Bryant of Owensboro, two grandchildren, Michelle Dant and husband Evan of Owensboro and Michael Bryant and wife Joy of Owensboro, three great grandchildren, Braxton Dant, Amy and Skyler Bryant, and two nieces, Dannette Preston of Owensboro and Cindy Hamilton and husband Mike of Owensboro.
Services will be Noon Friday, October 20, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory officiated by Father Mike Clark. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday and from 10:00-12:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
