Jess M. Buckner

Jess M. Buckner, 88, of Philpot died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at his home. He was born in Zalma, MO on March 11, 1914 the son of Edward and Lucy Gibson Buckner. His wife, Celesta Buckner preceded him in death on September 10, 2000. Two son, Ernest Lee Buckner on December 21, 1983 and Troy Lee Buckner on December 28, 1999 also preceded him in death.

Mr. Buckner was a retired rancher and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and Quarter Horse Association.

Survivors include a son, John Leonard of Jay, OK; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Duane Parker. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday March 27, 2002 and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
