Jerry W. Stinnett

Jerry W. Stinnett, 65, of Owensboro passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Ohio Co., Ky. to the late Gordon "Tookie" Stinnett and Ilo Wilkins Stinnett. He was the owner of the former Stinnett Masonry Co.and also owned P. J.'s Tanning Salon. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching Nascar, traveling, deepsea fishing, tractor work and preparing yards, and raising a vegetable garden. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Turner in 2007.

Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Judy Mattingly Stinnett, a son, Michael J. Stinnett and wife Kelly of Owensboro, a daughter, Mary Lou Campbell and husband Tooter of Owensboro, two stepdaughters, Denise Richardson and husband Greg of Owensboro and Leslie Oldemeyer and husband Mark of Austin, Tx., two stepsons, Darrin Payne and wife Ginny of Owensboro and Jason Payne and wife Stacy of Union, Ky., two grandchildren, Drew and Halie Stinnett, 10 stepgrandchildren, Mallory, Mason, and Maddex Richardson, Cameron Payne, Emma Kate Payne, Griffin Payne, J. T. Payne, Katelyn Payne, Lyndsey Payne, and Avery Oldemeyer, a brother, Ted Stinnett and wife Sylvia of Owensboro, and three sisters, Judy Young and husband Eddie of Bremen, Lucy Daniels and husband Carl of Ft. Worth, Tx., and Patsy Vance and husband Greg of Hartford.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 28, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial following in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio Co. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 8:30 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 6:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
