Jerry Lee Fulks

March 25, 1940 — January 19, 2015

Jerry Lee Fulks, 74, of Owensboro died Monday, January 19, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born in Eureka, IN to the late Joe Allen and Mildred Fulks.

Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force for more than twelve years, including the Vietnam War. He was an Air Policeman and sharpshooter. He was awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart.

Jerry was a hard worker. Through the years he worked as a Sherriff's Deputy, welder and an electrician in the construction industry. He was a "get it done kind of guy" and was proud of the fact that he dug a basement under his home by hand.

Jerry was a Christian man and an avid sports fan who enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing and playing cards.

He was preceded in death by sons, Jerry Lee Fulks, Jr. and Phillip Wayne Fulks; sister, Margaret Ann Fulks; and a brother, Gary Wayne Fulks.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marla Fulks;daughters, Lorinda "Lori" Raibley of Ft. Worth, TX and Michelle Cooper of Louisville, KY; sons, Todd Fulks of Ft. Worth, TX and Larry Holland (Tammy) of Calhoun, KY; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Voyles (Casper) of Hatfield, IN, Beverly Schnapf (Gill) of Evansville and Mary Alice Mann (Kent) of Ft. Branch, IN; brothers, Allen Clayton Fulks (Jean) of Rough River, KY, Larry Joe Fulks (Janice) of Louisiana, David Cleon Fulks (Diane) of Owensboro and Mark Allen Fulks (Jney) of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, January 23 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Carl Jones will officiate. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM and after 12 on Friday at the funeral home.
