Jerry L. Day, 56, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at his home. He was born in Owensboro and graduated from Daviess County High School.
Jerry was a hard-working man who worked as a boilermaker for more than thirty years. His co-workers knew him as "Hillbilly". Jerry had attended Hardinsburg Baptist and Apollo Heights Baptist churches and enjoyed U.K. sports.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Fortner.
He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Day (Kasey Ranson) and Justin Day (Kasi), both of Owensboro; four grandchildren; his father, Tom Day of Owensboro; a sister, Julie Thompson (Scott); a brother, Tom Day; and nieces, Dallas Day and Sahara Thompson.
The memorial service will be 7:00 PM Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with visitation after 3:00 PM. Pastor Myke Templeton will officiate.
