Jerry Wayne Davis

Jerry Wayne Davis, 60, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born September 28, 1948 to the late Homer E. and Betsy E. Huffine Davis in Breckinridge County. He worked for Pinkerton Tobacco Co. for 22 years and served as an interim pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a member of Greater Vision Baptist Church and loved to fish, play golf, and watch UK basketball.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Micheal Davis, his beloved aunt and uncle, Jessie and Herman Davis, and a nephew, Andrew Anderson.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, April Davis; his sons, Tony Davis (Kathy) of Rockport, IN, and Timmy Davis (Roxann) Davis of Rockport, IN; his step-children, Raven Barnett, Ashley and Tyler Purcell, all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Derek and Blake Davis, Brittney Goff (Jared), Kurtis Shartzer, and Lindsey McDaniel; great-granddaughters, Mariah Moore and Anna Goff; his sisters, Diana Asslin (Mickey), Sharon Martin (Bruce), all of Mills River, NC, and his brother, Toby Davis of West Palm Beach, FL.

Services will be 12:00 PM Monday, at Greater Vision Baptist Church with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Monday at the church.
