Jerry L. Cooper, 67, of 651 Danberry Street, Owensboro, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 30, 1939 to the late Delbert and Trancy Taylor Cooper in Buffaloville, IN. He was with the Operating Engineers Local 181 for 46 years, a member of Greenbriar Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed restoring old tractors, working on small engines and going to the horseraces. He was a Indiana basketball fan and liked to watch baseball.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Virginia L. Cooper; his sons, Keith Cooper and his wife, Cyndie of Owensboro, Steve Cooper of Port St. Lucie, FL; three step-daughters, Rita Ann Higdon and her husband, Tommy of Owensboro, Kathleen Sapp of Owensboro and Doris Jean Bringar and her husband, Jeff of Bloomington, IN; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and nine step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Chandler of South Port, Maine, Joan Worthwine and her husband, John of Huntingburg, IN and Mary of Evansville, IN; a brother, Donnie Cooper of St. Henry, IN; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
