Jenny Bell Laslie Burden

October 13, 1920 — February 12, 2009

Jenny Bell Laslie Burden, 88, of Lewisport, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009 in Owensboro. She was born on Oct. 13, 1920 in Breckenridge Co., Ky. to the late Arthur and Mary Carmen Laslie. She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed spending time with her family, flower gardening, and going to yard sales. She also loved to sew and quilt having made beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren. She loved music especially when her sons played their guitars and sang for her. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Burden in 1984, a daughter, Bonnie Baird in 2003, sisters, Anna Mae Banken in 1953 and Lena Shouse in 1991, and a brother, Lee Allen Laslie in 1970.

Left to miss her always are four sons, William S. Burden and wife Lynn of Ensor, David Burden and wife Charlene of Pinehurst, ID, Joe Burden of Philpot, and Ronald Burden and wife Debra of Owensboro, three daughters, Evelyn Bellamy and husband James of Whitesville, Melva Richard and husband David of Evansville, and Sharon Nichols and husband Jeff of Lewisport, 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren, a brother, Charles Laslie of Ensor, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 16, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewisport Volunteer Fire Dept. to benefit the Emergency Shelter, P. O. Box 22, Lewisport, Ky. 42351 or to Hospice of Western Ky., 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
