Jeffrey Allen Parker, 61, of Glasgow, Kentucky, formerly of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 in Louisville. He was born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania to the late Lawrence R. and June M. Moser Parker. Jeff was a 1974 graduate of Owensboro High and attended Kentucky Wesleyan College.
From the age of 14, Jeff spent more than thirty years working in the family business, City Transfer Moving and Storage. He later worked as an insurance agent and most recently helped broker shipping and logistics for American Transportation Systems. He had been a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. Jeff enjoyed reading, fishing, golfing, NASCAR and U.K. Basketball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Garnett Vance, Jr.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Jill Ball (Justin) of Lexington, KY; a son, Jay Parker (Kelly) of Louisville; grandchildren, Vivian Parker, Owen Ball and Landon Ball; sisters, Carol Jaggers (Larry), Kathy Vance, Sandy Bell (Joe) and Gail Parker (Jerry Hardesty); a brother, Larry Parker (Dione); and former spouse and mother of his children, Janice Parker Pulliam.
The service will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 11 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with visitation after 2:00 PM.
