Jeffrey Lynn Nichols

Jeffrey Lynn "Petie" Nichols, 54, of Owensboro, son of Pete Nichols and the late Lois Ann McCowan was born on May 16, 1955 in Greenville, KY, and departed this life at 12:30 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2009. Jeffrey was raised by the late Bill and Rachel Franklin. He attended and graduated from Greenville High School in 1973. Jeffrey was baptized at First Baptist Church in Greenville and also attended Fourth Street Baptist Church in Owensboro, where he served as an usher and drove the church van. He is currently a member of Owensboro Christian Church. Jeffrey completed his basic training at Fort Knox Armor Center, and was a veteran of the United States Army and was discharged on May 20, 1986. He was employed by Owensboro Medical Health System, and had worked part time at Sparkle Brite Car Wash.

He leaves to cherish his memory lovingly, Gwen, his three sons, Jeffrey Jr., Justin, and Christopher, his two daughters, Jennifer and Sheeretha, and two step-sons, Peter and Justin; his aunt, Ernestine Robinson of Greenville; several grandchildren and friends.

Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, at the Owensboro Christian Church with burial in the West End Cemetery in Greenville, KY. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
