Jeffrey Lynn Leibfried

June 2, 1959 — June 25, 2015

Jeffrey Lynn Leibfried, having just turned 56 on June 2nd, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly June 25, 2015, while on vacation and celebrating his wedding anniversary in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He was accompanied by his wife, two of her sisters and part of their families.
Jeff, a born again Christian of the Baptist faith, loved GOD, his family, life, and his many friends. He loved to fish, hunt, cook, and have family and friend get-togethers. He also loved his dogs, Sissy and Lacey.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lana Elliott Leibfried; his daughter, Britney Leibfried Harris (Brandon); two beautiful grandchildren, Amya Starr Harris and Dontrell "Peanut" Lynn Harris; his parents, Jack and Gayle Leibfried; a brother, Sean Christian Leibfried (Michele); and his niece, Seana.
He was ''big brother'' to his wife's 3 sisters, Melinda Elliott, Rhonda Embry (Curtis) and Jennifer Rouch (David). He was close to their families and his mother-in-law, Betty Elliott, who all loved him dearly.
Throughout all of his school years he had two very close friends, Tommy Harper (deceased), and Jerry Wilson of Owensboro. They were the ''three musketeers''. What one didn't think of to do, the other two would. Jeff and Tommy are together in heaven now having a grand reunion talking about old times.
He worked for Wyndall's supermarket as a teenager, like most all of the horse show kids did. After
graduation from Owensboro High School in 1977, he went to work for Owensboro Supply. Later he was employed at Glenmore Distillery and finally worked as a service technician for Clark Restaurant Service.
Jeff was well loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A memorial service will be held 6 o'clock Thursday, July 2nd at Community Baptist Church on Prince Avenue in Owensboro, Kentucky. Rev. Torrey Hunter will officiate. Visitation will be 4-6:00 p.m. at the church.
Flowers or expressions of sympathy may be sent directly to the church.
