Jean Diane Sanders Ware

Jean Diane Sanders Ware, 73, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at her home after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hyland Sanders on August 1, 1977 and Alice Sanders on April 8, 1975, her sister, Mary Suzanne Edwards on June 17, 2003, and her beloved husband, Gordon Ware on March 31, 1999.

She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Ware and Stephanie Ware, both of Owensboro, and her son, Gordon Ware and wife Kelly, and her grandchildren, Kalyn Ware and Garrett Ware, all of Bradenton, FL.

Others survivors include her brother, Simon Sanders and wife Patricia of Owensboro, sisters, Alice Reynolds of Naples, FL, Alleda Dukate and husband Gary of Philpot, and Molly Sanders of Powderly, seven nieces, eight nephews, and 31 great nieces and nephews.

Diane was born in Evansville, IN on October 12, 1935. She worked as a switchboard operator at the former Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, as a secretary at General Electric, and for the Owensboro Police Dept. as a crossing guard in front of Owensboro High School. She finally retired from employment as a bus driver and aid for the Owensboro Public School System in 2003.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Prajapati, Dr. Maheshwari, Dr. Newton, Dr. Bryant, Dr. Maru, Dr. Anderson, their staffs and Hospice of Western Ky.

Services will be 12:30 P.M. Thursday, April 2, at Christ Chapel in Owensboro Memorial Gardens with burial following. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 12 Noon Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Partnership House, Clients Fund, c/o Vickie Malott, R.N.B.C., 314 Ewing Rd., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
