Jean Lawrence Stroud

Jean Lawrence Stroud, 78, of Owensboro died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Daviess County, a daughter of the late Guy Rummage and Mary Hazelrigg Rummage, she was a graduate of Owensboro High School, and a devoted member of Third Baptist Church and its Class of Esther Sunday school class. She retired after working many years as the office nurse of Dr. Wathen Medley. Preceding her in death were her husbands, Wilbert Owen Lawrence in 1973 and Carlos Ray Stroud, Sr. in 2005, and her sisters, Elizabeth Penrod and Virginia Hicks.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Howard and her husband Tommy, and her son Larry Lawrence, all of Owensboro, her grandchildren, Jason Lawrence of Owensboro, Erin Dant of Bowling Green, and Samuel Howard of Lexington; and her great-grandchildren, Sophia Dant, Georgia Dant, Jordan Lawrence, Alyssa Lawrence, and Brianna Lawrence.

Services are at 12:00 noon Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
