Jean Francis Rogers, 84, of 21C Quail Ridge Court, Owensboro, died Sunday, September 16, 2001 at her home. The Chicago, Illinois native was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and Cursillo. She was a devoted mother and wife, and loved babies, music, dancing, cooking, and being in her kitchen.
Survivors includes her husband of 59 years, James L. Rogers, six daughters; Diane Abbinanti of Marina del Rey, California, Nancy Pelletier of Coronado, California, Jo Barron of Owensboro, Susan Tagmyer of Aurora, Colorado, Dorothy Kesling of LaPorte, Indiana, and Toni Smith of Denver, Colorado, two brothers; Joseph OBrien of Ottawa, Illinois and John OBrien of Glenview, Illinois, 22 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James George Rogers in 1957 and a daughter, Mary Francis Rogers, in 1986.
Services are at noon Friday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday and from 10 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Friday. Prayers will be said at 6 P.M. Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Mass offerings or American Cancer Society 319 West 10th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
