Jean K. Mullikin

Jean K. Mullikin, 82 of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday July 18, 2009 at the Rose Care Home, a private care facility in Nashville, TN. She was born September 2, 1926 in Frankfort, IN to the late Presley H. and Clara Ione Lovett Kimmel. She was married to Edwin Lee Mullikin, Jr. who passed away on March 20, 2008. Together they had five children and 14 grandchildren: Doug Mullikin of Owensboro and his wife, Sandi, and children Tiffany and Emily; James Mullikin of Grapevine, TX and his wife Laurie, and children Sean, Brett, Kelsey, and Amy; Kathy Collings of Spring Hill, TN and her husband Mark, and children Meagan, James, and Jonathan; Tom Mullikin of Little Ferry, N. J. and his wife Julie, and children Rebekah, Abigail, and Rachel; and Matt Mullikin of Newburgh, IN and his wife Glena and children Trevor and Wesley. Jean is also survived by her two brothers, Bruce Kimmel and his wife Kathleen of Greenfield, IN and Dr. George Kimmel of Evansville.

Jean was a homemaker, had been a volunteer for a number of years at Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital, and was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church where she had taught children's and adult Sunday School classes. She had also been very involved in the United Methodist Women on the local, district, and conference levels and
had been a lay director with the Walk To Emmaus. She enjoyed playing bridge and the piano, and for a number of years, she and Edwin kept score for the swim meets at the Town and Country swimming pool.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 21 at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Love officiating. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Monday and after 12 Noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
