Jean Epperson

Jean Epperson, 91, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Hermitage Care and Rehab. Jean was born in Kent, England on March 5, 1934, to the late Thomas John Maben and Elizabeth Reynolds Maben. She met her future husband, Kenneth Epperson, at “Dreamland” where military personal would gather and later relocated to the States. Jean was employed at the Hon Company and retired from there in 1996. As a proper British lady, Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed being with her family and friends playing games and cards almost every Friday night for years. She had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her cats, Max and Milo.

In addition to her parents, Jean was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth O. Epperson in 1998; sons, Lyle and Robert Epperson; daughter, Linda McCoy; siblings, Robert Maben, Susan Patrick, and Kitty Pierce.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Ava Heep (Stewart) and Carla Thomas both of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Patti Whitten, Rae Mayfield, Kenny Epperson, Ron Heep (Joni), and Mike Heep (Cindy); four great grandchildren and three on the way; sister, Elaine Turnidge; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 4:30 pm Saturday, August 30 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 1:30 pm until the time of the service.
