Jaunita Seifried Day, 89, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center with family by her side. She was born February 2, 1929 to the late Edward and Birtie Seifried. Jaunita was a member of the former Walnut Street Baptist Church and later, Buena Vista Baptist Church. She servced as a Sunday School teacher and taught Vacation Bible School. Jaunita was a devoted Christian, loved her church and dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She loved taking care of her kids and grandkids. An avid basketball fan, Jaunita also loved eating out with friends and walking at the mall. Jaunita is also preceded in death by sisters, Katherine Freels and Dottie Clements.; half-sister, Susie O'Bryan and half-brother, Henry McCain.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Day, Jr.; daughters, Debbie Hocker (Greg) of Owensboro and Kim Cloyd of Louisville; granddaughters, Megan Riley (Steven) and Kaelin Hocker; grandsons, John Charles Cloyd and Jordan Cloyd; great-grandson, Grayson Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombement will take place at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
