Janis Marie "Mamaw Janis" Feltman, 65 of Owensboro passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at The Heartford House. Janis was born at home in Whitesville, KY, a daughter of the late James Mayfield and Maxine Huff Mayfield. She was a devoted member of Owensboro First United Baptist Church and had last worked for Morrison's Food Service at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. For 21 years she had worked at National Linen Service where she was a union representative with Unite. Her interests included reading and genealogy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Ray Feltman and Gregory Scott Feltman, and a sister, Darlene Mayfield.
Mrs. Feltman is survived by her son, Michael Wayne (Kathy) Feltman; her mother, Maxine Mayfield; her grandchildren, Jonathan Feltman, David Feltman, Brandon (Ashley) Johnson, and Brock (Cassie) Johnson; her great-grandchildren Addilynn Johnson and Tanner Johnson; her brothers, Terry Mayfield and Larry Mayfield; and her sisters, Sandra (Owen) Howard, Kathy Burns, and Glenda (Kevin) Scott, all of Owensboro.
The funeral service for Mrs. Feltman will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Owensboro First United Baptist Church. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday and at the church from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Heartford House of Hospice of Western Kentucky.
