Janice Riney Morton, 83, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, May 28, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born February 1, 1941, to the late James L. and Kathryn Riney. Janice was a member of Immaculate Parish. She was strong in her faith and thoughtful of others. Janice was a great cook and made the best Christmas candy and cookies. She enjoyed going to church, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grand babies.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Morton; son, Billy Morton; sister, Betty Gail Sims (Bob); brothers, Gary Riney and Mike Riney (Faye) and Charles Lynn Riney; brother-in-law, Stewart G. Coomes; and sister-in-law, Becky Riney.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, James “Cary” Morton (Debbie); daughters, Kim Myers (Barry) and Dayna Cox (Shane); sisters, Barbara June Coomes and Francil Higdon (Bob); brothers, David Riney, Ken Riney (Ruth) and Bruce Riney (Dot); sisters-in-law, Faye Riney and Mary Helen Riney; grandchildren, Rachel Dickens (Skyler), Will Myers (Maci), Sam Morton (Jenna), Drew Morton, Cari Beth Morton, Whitney Cox, Nathaniel Cox, and Nicholas Cox; and eight great grandchildren.
The funeral mass for Janice will be 11 AM Monday, June 3, at Immaculate Parish. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 PM until 5 PM and Monday 9 AM until 10:30 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
