Janice “Jan” Lambert DeHaven, 75, of Owensboro, KY passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Born April 10, 1951, to the late Mary Louise Ams and Paul Lambert in Owensboro, KY. Jan is a lifelong resident of Owensboro. She is a 1969 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. Her work ethic was unlike most; her retail journey began at Wyndall’s Grocery after high school for 17 years. She later went on to work at Lazarus in 1990 where she met her husband, Bill, while he was out shopping one day. Jan was known as the “Clinique girl” and the manager of the Clinique counter at Macy’s until she retired in 2020. At Macy’s she was able to combine her hobby of making others feel confident and beautiful with makeovers and her career. She was loved by all and will be remembered for her kindness, patience, and the ability to find a good bargain anywhere she went.
She will be missed by all that knew her, especially her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved her sons fiercely and selflessly. Jan had many titles, but “Gran Jan” was her favorite. Her lifelong friend group has lost a big piece of their circle; Bunco Nights will never look quite the same. Jan was special to so many people and will forever be remembered as a wonderful friend.
Jan is survived by her Husband, Charles “Bill” William DeHaven of Owensboro of 14 years; her older brother, Paul Ralph (Joyce) Lambert, Jr.; and sister Rebecca “Becky” (David) Carrico of Owensboro; children, Aaron Matthis of Owensboro, Jon Michael (Lauren) Matthis of Evansville, and stepdaughter, Heather (Michael) Enright of Shreveport, LA; four wonderful grandson’s, Bentley (16), Oliver (8), and Sullivan (5), of Evansville, IN and Sean Enright (11) of Shreveport, LA; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews who fondly called her “Aunt Jan.”
A funeral service for Jan will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday July 16, 2026, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment to follow in the Chapel of Peace at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
